Sku:
pharmachologic effect
The blocker of histamine H1 receptors, a derivative of phthalazinone. Has a strong and prolonged prolonged antiallergic effect. With intraocular application, additional anti-inflammatory and membrane-stabilizing effects appear: azelastine inhibits the synthesis and release of mediators of the early and late phase of allergic reactions (including leukotriene, histamine, platelet-activating factor and serotonin, reduces the number of cells of molecular adhesion and eosinophils).
Clinically significant effects on the QT interval were not detected even with prolonged use of azelastine in high doses.
Indications
- prevention and treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis;
- treatment of off-season (all-the-year-round) allergic conjunctivitis.
