Pharmacological action
NSAIDs, a derivative of propionic acid. Has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect. By inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 and, partially, lipoxygenase, Ketoprofen inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and bradykinin, stabilizes lysosomal membranes.
Ketoprofen has no adverse effect on the condition of the articular cartilage.
Testimony
— symptomatic therapy of inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system (including rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative arthritis /ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis/), osteoarthritis, gout, pseudogout);
— pain (including headache, myalgia, neuralgia, sciatica, post-traumatic and postoperative pain, pain in cancer, algomenorrhea).
Contraindications
— stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer in acute phase;
— Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease;
— hemophilia and other blood clotting;
— expressed liver failure;
— severe renal failure;
— uncompensated heart failure;
— the postoperative period after coronary artery bypass grafting;
— gastrointestinal, cerebrovascular, and other bleeding or suspected bleeding;
— chronic dyspepsia;
— III trimester of pregnancy;
— lactation (breastfeeding);
— children up to age 15 years;
— hypersensitivity to Ketoprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs;
— indicate a history of bronchial asthma, hives and rhinitis, caused by taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
Drug interactions
Ketoprofen reduces the effect of diuretics, antihypertensive drugs.
Enhances the effect of oral hypoglycemic drugs.
With simultaneous use with other NSAIDs, salicylates, corticosteroids and ethanol increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
At simultaneous application with anticoagulants, with thrombolytic drugs, antiplatelet agents increases the risk of bleeding.
The risk of renal dysfunction increases at simultaneous reception with diuretics or ACE inhibitors.
While the application increases the concentration of cardiac glycosides, blockers slow calcium channels, drugs lithium, cyclosporine, methotrexate.
Ketoprofen may reduce the efficacy of mifepristone. The NSAIDs should be started no earlier than 8-12 days after discontinuation of mifepristone.
Have Ketonal® can be combined with analgesics of Central action. The solution can be mixed with morphine in a bottle.
