Pharmacological action

Antiviral agent, a derivative of adamantane. The main mechanism of antiviral action is the inhibition of early stage-specific reproduction after penetration of the virus into the cell before the start of RNA transcription. Pharmacological efficiency is ensured by the inhibition of virus replication in the initial stage of the infectious process.

Active against different strains of influenza virus A (especially A2 type) and tick - borne encephalitis virus (Central European and Russian spring-summer), which belong to the group of arboviruses of the Flaviviridae family.

Testimony

Prevention and early treatment of influenza in adults and children older than 7 years, the prevention of influenza during epidemics in adults, prevention of tick-borne encephalitis of viral etiology.

Contraindications

Acute liver disease, acute and chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, children up to age 7 years, increased sensitivity to rimantadine.
