Semisynthetic tetracycline, a bacteriostatic broad-spectrum antibiotic derived from metatsiklina. Penetrating inside the cell, acts on intracellular pathogens located. Inhibits protein synthesis in the microbial cell, disrupting the communication transport aminoacyl-RNA to 30S ribosomal subjedinice of the membrane. Does not affect the cell wall synthesis of bacteria.

To him highly sensitive: gram-positive microorganisms Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus), Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Clostridium spp., Listeria spp.; and gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella spp., Entamoeba histolytica, E. coli, Shigella spp., Enterobacter, Salmonella spp., Pasterella spp., Bacteroides spp. Psyttacosis spp. Treponema spp. (including strains resistant to other antibiotics, e.g. modern penicillins and cephalosporins). The most sensitive Haemophilus influenzae (91-96%) and intracellular pathogens.

In connection with the suppression of intestinal microflora reduces prothrombin index which requires dose adjustment of indirect anticoagulants.

When combined with bactericidal antibiotics that violates the synthesis of cell wall (penicillins, cephalosporins), - reducing the effectiveness.

Reduces reliability of contraception and increases the frequency of bleeding "breakthrough" on a background of reception estrogensoderjaschie oral contraceptives.
